Pigs and Elephants

Posted on: June 25, 2012

The girls were off to play while I went to the dentist so they got to do lunch on the go.  I made some little pigs for Miss A.  Her sandwich is on Rudi’s Whole Grain bread and a raisin eye.  Above in the white pig are dried cranberries and the pink pig container has organic raspberries.  At the top left are watermelon strips with a pig pick and at the top right are red seedless grapes with a little pig baran peeking out.

Miss G chose the elephant Lunch Punch for her sandwich.  Both mom & baby have raisin eyes on their Rudi’s whole grain bread.  At the top left are red seedless grapes and at top right are elephant shaped watermelon pieces.  Both girls’ lunches are packed in Easy Lunch Boxes.

I also packed a salad for my husband to go with his lunch.  Baby greens of swiss chard, spinach and arugula are topped with a half of an heirloom tomato surrounded by grape tomatoes and cucumbers.  At top left are pineapple chunks and red seedless grapes at the top right packed in his Easy Lunch Box.

Seriously?! These are all AH-mazing!!!
Love the piggies and elephants. All the little details just add so much – great job!!
Plus I always want the hubs salads for me! lol

Thanks 🙂 I appreciate your expertice this morning too! You are too sweet!

Looking to duplicate the salad for my diabetic dad. Seems very yummy and healthy. Just finding arugulas in store. Also, what tool did you make use of the elephant watermelon? Lovely and neat.

I buy the Organic Girl brand of pre-mixed and washed greens. There is one that has arugula, tat soi, spinach and baby swiss chard. Here is the pack of tools from Bento USA that I used.–4904705155309.html

So glad everything got to you! Also, you had some MAJOR compliments from my blogger friends when I shared your summer inspired lunch. They especially loved your fish shaped egg. I am so happy that you’ll use it all to make fun food. Thanks for reading, Joy!
