If I haven’t raved about them enough, The LunchPunch makes some of the greatest sandwich cutters out there.  They are cute, they waste little bread, they’re sturdy and they save SO much time with lunches!  This one is Rudi’s Nut and Oat bread with a pumpernickel dog piece in the middle.  I used bread crust for his collar and the flowers cutouts are from the apple at the top left and a tree trunk pick.  On the dog picks on either side are green seedless grapes.  The top left is an apple tree with flower cutouts and more green grapes underneath.  At the top right are watermelon fire hydrants because we all know dogs are drawn to them!

Miss G’s snack today is sugar snap peas, grape tomatoes and mini carrots.

And Little Miss A is doing the letter C this week so the topic of the week was the circus.  From the bottom left is a round clown face sandwich.  The eyes are vegan chocolate chips, the nose is a dried apricot, the cheeks are raspberries, the mouth is Stretch Island fruit leather and the hair is Shirataki brand tofu pasta.  The hat above is watermelon and cantaloupe triangles surrounded by green grapes.  At the top right are mini carrots and a honeydew melon elephant with a pick hat. He’s standing on a circus stand below made of watermelon and cantaloupe with circus themed picks of the big top, another elephant and a seal in her LunchBots Quad.

Things I used to make this lunch:

I have a bento supply and accessory addiction.  It’s no secret to anyone who knows me well. Here is a photo of my recent orders from Bento USA by All Things For Sale.  In my opinion, they are probably the most complete and affordable resource for bento supplies that can be purchased on line.

In my most recent package, I had a gift from Bento USA by All Things For Sale to try out so I made little Miss A’s lunch with it.  She loves the smaller sandwiches I make for her.   They don’t last long!  These cute cutters are a rabbit, an elephant and a bear.  Her sandwiches are on Rudi’s Whole Grain bread with Tofurkey brand deli slices (vegan) and Vegan brand cheese.  In the pink bunny container are dried cranberries, in the middle are green grapes with an elephant pick and in the blue bear are blueberries.

Here are the cutters I used.  Please click on the photo to view more items at Bento USA by All Things For Sale.

And Miss G has a heart with a surprised face.  At the top left are green and red grapes and at the top right are honeydew melon chunks with face picks.

It’s strawberry season in Florida.  I took the girls to pick strawberries over the weekend, and we brought over 5 pounds home!  We’ve filled up on berries this weekend, and they will be in their lunches all week.

This week the girls will learn all about the letter O.   Her lunch is filled with things that begin with or are shaped like “O”.  She has an “O” shaped sandwich on Udi’s brand whole grain bread with Justin’s Almond Butter, above it are blueberries on flowered O picks, and a clementine orange with a hat.  On the left side are our freshly picked strawberries (flowers and an “O” on top), a bunny pick, to the left are olives on a flowered “O” pick and sliced kiwi fruit.  They are all packed in a LunchBots Duo stainless container.

Little A had a small elephant almond butter & jam on whole grain bread, above right are flower shaped strawberries, above left is a clementine orange with hat pick, bottom right are flower shaped dried apricots and bottom left are raspberries.

Happy Monday!

I was a bit apple happy this morning so Miss G got an apple shaped sandwich on whole wheat with peanut butter, jelly & honey.  I put some green sprinkles on the leaf part of the sandwich.  This picture isn’t the greatest 🙂  The strawberries are all cut into small apples.  I used a small tulip cutter to make mozzarella string cheese flowers & put them on picks with leaves.  I halved an apple after using the same large apple cutter.  Then soak the apple in some kind of citrus juice and water to prevent browning.  Little G loves lemon juice so that’s what I used today.  I also used some cute separators to keep the sandwich from getting soggy.

Just including another awful picture so you can see that I included some leftover Annie’s mac & cheese and carrots cut like suns.  Underneath them I spread ranch dip.

Little A joined her sister for the morning at school again today.  She got two little elephant sandwiches, cashews for nibbling along with a couple of pecans, sun shaped strawberries and a mozzarella cheese stick cut for grass underneath.  In the small round bento, she also got leftover Annie’s mac & cheese with a cut up a Dominex brand vegetarian eggplant meatball which she loves.  Both kids drink ice water and get a pouch of Lifeway Kefir in their lunches.
