Miss G is still the only one at school so I decided on a routine traffic stop.  She loves the same thing every day.  Almond butter & strawberry jam on Rudi’s Nut & Oat bread is what she likes.  I used another LunchPunch from the transportation set since they’re studying things that go all week.

The windows on the car are Veggy brand cheese, and a lion pick is the driver today.  I used the same carrots today as I did yesterday for the wheels & stuck them on with almond butter.   In front of the car is a traffic light.  The strawberries are the red light, cantaloupe for orange and honeydew for the green light.  The bottom left flower cup has sliced kiwi in it and the bottom right are sliced soy ravioli packed in her Easy Lunch Box.

Today is Miss G’s 4th birthday.  She wanted a princess party at home tonight with a cake and a chocolate sandwich for dinner.  Not sure I’ll meet all those requests, but there will be some princess decor and a cake 🙂  Can hardly believe how the time flies.  My body and my life will never be the same!  Happy birthday, little princess.

Would also like to give a big birthday shout to my fabulous blogess friend Keeley at the Keeley McGuire Blog who is probably turning 25 today from the looks of her 😉  Happy birthday, Keeley!  Thanks for the intro to all our wonderful bento blogger moms.  I really do appreciate you!

Breakfast was homemade vegan apple cinnamon mini muffins, 4 clementine segments and a big mango 4 for Miss G.

Miss G gets a birthday cake sandwich thanks to my lazy mom’s way out (which I highly recommend!) LunchPunch cutters.  This one is from the sweet treats set of 4.  The cutter has 3 candles so I had to add one more with some Veggy brand “cheese” slices.  She wanted chocolate and peanut butter so she got a Nutella and PB on whole grain.  The pink sprinkles are stuck on with agave nectar.   She also had 4 mango crowns, 4 blackberries, 4 blueberries, 4 green grapes and 4 strawberries cut out with my FunBites Luv It! cutter and a crown pick.  At the top left is cinnamon applesauce with sprinkles in the shape of a 4.

I was taking some pictures for a class to demonstrate how to make simple faces so I used the leftovers from last night to make Miss G’s lunch today. The hair ended up looking like a hockey helmet, but I am grateful that she’s 3 and doesn’t care!  The sandwich is on whole grain bread, crinkle cut carrot hair & mouth, Veggy “cheese eyes with cucumber pupils and a raisin nose stuck on with agave nectar.  Above the head is a pick of mini heirloom tomatoes and mini cucumber slices.  In the blue cup are dried cranberries and a strawberry on top.  Below in the red cup is a plum mouse with cucumber eyes & nose sitting on a bed of barley.  Miss G’s lunch is packed in an Easy Lunch Box We are still keeping with the meat and dairy free theme in our house, and the kids are adapting surprisingly well!

Little A gets a flowery lunch today.  She also has an almond butter and jam sandwich on whole grain with a cucumber slice in the middle.  She doesn’t eat cucumber, but I keep putting in new vegetables and fruits for her to try.  It can take up to 20 times for some children to decide they like and will eat a new food.  I just keep the quantities small so I’m not throwing out a lot of food.  The small green flower cup has dried cranberries in it and the large one has sliced plums and a sliced strawberry in it pack in her LunchBots Duo.  Both girls get ice water each day with their lunches.

So the Bento Blog Network is having Hello Kitty week.  I put in a lunch from last year, but I am overdue for a Hello Kitty lunch considering how crazy Miss G is over her.  This one would have been fabulous had I put it together last night.  Since I did it in a rush this morning I had to patch a few botched cheese oopsies.   The actual sandwich is cut from a circle biscuit cutter on Rudi’s 14 Grain Bread with almond butter & jam.  The cheese for Hello Kitty’s face is Veggy brand “Mozzarella” cheese made from soy.   It tastes just like cheese to me but it’s a lot more fragile to cut than real cheese (hence the tearing).  I used a template and a tiny paring knife to cut her face out. The bow underneath was a bit mangled so I made a new one of a raisin in the middle and 2 Craisins for the outside.  The whiskers are fruit leather strips poked into her face to stay.  The top left cup has watermelon and strawberry flowers and the top right cup has spinach leaves for garnish, blueberries underneath and a plum slice flower.

Little Miss A has been a super picky eater as of late.  The terrible 2s have really set in with her.  She’s come out of her little shell chucking food and climbing furniture like a pro these days.  Appropriately she gets a little monster today for lunch.  On the right side are quinoa veggie curl pasta with eggplant meatballs.  His eyes & nose are made from the same Veggy “cheese” slice, his mouth is a crinkle cut mini carrot and above his eyes are Daiya vegan  “cheese” shreds.  On the left are watermelon and strawberry flowers packed in her polar bear bento box by Gel-Cool.

Please don’t forget to visit the Bento Blog Network and vote for your favorite Hello Kitty bento!  (HINT: mine are #20 and #23!)
